Sure, this sounds like sour grapes, but since May 21, traffic and revenue dropped off a cliff. It's no longer worthwhile to update my site. Just as an explanation, I took what was once a subscription-based service in password protected pages and converted to publicly available pages with adsense. It was good, increasing income every month until Bourbon devastated it.
I've tried what I reasonably could but am at a point now that I am seriously considering chucking the entire site as the revenue isn't even worth thining about at this point. Anybody who has any reasonable ideas, please post or sticky me.
Bummed out and depressed...
Anyway...it might be to specific to be mentioned here.
and I called KFC to complain cause my mash potatoes were cold and they gave me the Colonel's Recipe.

Have been away of my PC most of the day busy shopping with my daughter for her new school year. Those of you who have daughters know exactly how expensive they can be ;-) .
Ok..and now to the serious stoff. Honestly I didnīt think that my thank you message to The Google Team would trigger comments. Now I can see that I should kept it for myself. My intention was just to thank Google folks and encourage them to continue on that line. Especially after reading several posts mentioning that Google folks donīt reply. My post wasnīt about discussing what I wrote or what was their exact reply. It was about the speedy way they replied in and that was exactly what I was aiming at.
Those of you who followed my posts on this forum know exactly that I belong to the sharp critics of Google because I still believe that what Google has done through 2005 hasnīt been something that the Folks at Google should be proud of at all and several of my posts have been to that effect.
But should that prevent me of saying thanks to the folks of Google for doing something right?
I really donīt wish to use more bandwidth about this matter.
My apology if my post gave any other impression than the one I was aiming at.
Next time I shall spend more time on choosing my words especially in happy moments ;-)

LOL....tell me about it. "Expensive" is an understatement but the smiles, laughs and fun are priceless. ( she'll turn 4 in december :) )
I hope so, and don't mind waiting. There's no way I can match this offer right now ;)
"NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - A Kenyan says he offered Bill Clinton 40 goats and 20 cows for his daughter's hand in marriage five years ago - and is still waiting for an answer." [freenewmexican.com...]

Geesh, it's only July. Give the kid a break. When I was a kid we didn't start seeing back to school specials until mid August. Now the marketing machines are running their back to school ads mid july. Poor kids are only a month into their summer holiday and already they're getting bombarded with back to school ads.
I'm going to go way out on a limb here and guess you're a boy, Surfer67. ;-)
Really, I wasn't exactly a fashionista as a teenager, but I still hit the fall clothes sales as soon as they opened in July. Picking out your school wardrobe was a big deal, man.
And I had an easybake oven, too. ;-)
My website is up and down like a yo-yo. One day number one, next day number 20. Few days later number one, then a few days later back to 20. This has been the case for a few weeks now. PR also seems to be up and down but has at least been stable for a few days. Is anyone else seeing the same as it is doing my nut in?
>>My website is up and down like a yo-yo. One day number one, next day number 20. Few days later number one, then a few days later back to 20. This has been the case for a few weeks now.<<
I guess its due to the consistent change and fluctuations through out the DCs.
I expect this to continue for few more weeks.
So my site can range from top 10 placement to worse than the 300 listing for the same term on the same dc. I think it is some temporary glitch where a page alludes a filter temporarily, just to get snagged later on. I'd like to know what is going on with 66.102.9.104/99 it ranks my site well, my domain is listed #1 for the search "domain.com", allin* searches return better results, has updated data...
The press release has links to the site, and I'm wondering how G would react if it saw 100's of new links. Watcha think? Anyone tried it?
Too scared to try it to be honest, but I could use some free press.
I have 4 sites within the same theme that are 1-4 years old. At the moment only one of them gets traffic from Google.
In december last year one of the sites lost itīs Google traffic for two months and then traffic came back again for some months and then traffic was down again and has been that for 4 months now.
In march 2005 two (2) other sites Google traffic declined and for one of them the traffic is back again. The other one still gets no Google traffic.
The oldest site lost itīs traffic this month. Unic visits down from 200 000 / month to 30 000. Traffic is from Yahoo and other SEs, no Google traffic.
I have been reading the Forum for help, but I cannot find any particular reason why my sites ranking has dropped. They are within the same theme and all owned by me, but thatīs the only major thing they have in common.
- Only one has domain.com and www.domain.com so I figured this could not be the problem.
- A couple of the sites have a blog and are updated quite often. This should not be the problem then?
- Duplicate content. I post press releases one some of the blogs, but cannot think that this could trigger a filter?
- Someone pointed that running a forum could hurt your ranking. Not all my sites have a forum and they have lost the traffic anyway.
I could come up with more...
I guess I just have to wait and see. Does anyone have some good ideas what I could be doing while waiting (not like going to the beach, but what could one do to the sites...).
1. my www.mysite.com is different from mysite.com
(they show different pagerank). So, should I use 301 or mode_redirect to correct this? If so, how?
2. my index.htm is different from my index.html page. Both pages have been indexed by Google separately. Does it make "Duplicate Content"?
When type in www.mysite.com, my server will automatically redirect to the index.html page. Somehow, when using Frontpage to upload my site, it only change the index.html page, but not my index.htm page. So Google see 2 similiar pages (index.htm vs index.html). Suppose this will trigger the Duplicate Penalty?
If so, how to correct it? Use mod_rewrite? If so, how to correctly use it? Is there a CENTRAL post in this forum to show us how to use 301Redirect or mod_rewrite to tackle this problem?
3. What other filters the Bourbon update used to filter out sites?
I guess 100's of other webmasters would have the same problems.
Anyway, this is what I did to get the non www to redirect to the www site and it works.

P.S. You should have only one index page. I do not know the best way to correct this, but you should get rid of one of them anyway.
