Has google forgot about me?

Getting penalized in Google. Anyone know why?

One day in June, I did a search for a popular keyword that we dominated. Another firm showed up in our place with the exact site that we operate... just under their domain name. I guess they stole all of our pages and Google indexed their site instead of ours. I really don't know.

Well now, the scraper site is gone and after a month and a half, we are nowhere near where we were before. We have been pushed back to page 5 or 6 for our ever most popular searches. I mean we used to dominate every search for our industry. Then one day, poof! We're gone!

I reported abuse on that site when it first happened and since then have contact Google a few times and got nothing in return. Not even an email from a real person to give advice or reason. I have done everything by the book and have gained all of our links through hard work and a lot of time.

I think we're being penalized but don't know why or what to do about it!
