For the past week... since the 27th of July... my indexed pages are falling again. For three weeks prior to this my indexed count increased almost daily and my supplemental pages vanished completely. Now the reverse is happening, supplemental pages have reappeared and my indexed page count is dropping daily. Anyone else seeing this?

I have lost almost 70M pages globally. Not sure if to panic or not, could just be a new estimation of pages.

I must say that the numbers in site: look more realistic than before.

Keep in mind, those numbers are estimates. Also, remember google has a ton of data centers.

On one of my sites, I see pages losing all page rank and going supplemental. When I search Google for a text string from those pages, they are not found any longer. I suppose this is what is meant by not indexed.

The one thing all of these pages have in common is they are farther from the home page than most of my pages. Down an extra level, I guess you might say. I don't use Google sitemaps. I am wondering if creating a site map linked from the home page with these urls on it would bring them back. Anyone had experience with this same phenomenon? Thanks for any help or input.

After using sitemaps for about 6 months, it's my opinion that they're useless... they seem to add no value and the much touted google reporting is basicly useless junk. I'm strongly considering removing my sitemap.

Remember that Matt stated that we should be taking a look at [72.14.207.104...] to see what could be rolled out by the end of summer.
