Regarding the 27 June fiasco; here's another theory...

Perhaps "authority sites" (those with quality outgoing links) are getting higher ratings in the SERPSs now...

I am doing a test on one of our sites by adding around 30 outgoing (quality) links to see if that improves (or restores) our SERPs results ( 2 KW )

What do you mean by Trust Rank? Is this a hypothetical term, or does it have intrinsic value? If so, what is it?

We are a content/authority site and many, many top authority sites link to us within their own content, but Google doesn't bother to count those backlinks for our PR.

We are still in the DUMPS from June 27- any advice?

Is everyone else still affected, don't see the June 27 issue around here much, but our referrals are still almost non-existent.

Probably not exactly the way the TrustRank alogrithm appears in the original paper -- but I do think some measure or other of trust is folded into the algorithm, and even gets "dialed up and down" at times. Matt and other Googlers have been talking about "signals of quality" for quite a while, and that feels like much the same.

Seems to me that something similar to TrustRank has got to be a factor in the mix, and that certainly could account for some of the odd reports we see, as well as the diminishment of PageRank as a be-all, end-all factor.

For the keywords I compete in, noone links out to other sites. My site got hit by the June 27 "data refresh" (whatever that means). My home page and others within the site that got hit for the most part don't link out. I do have some other pages within the site that do link out though.

Some of my competitors got hit on June 27th. Many recovered on July 27th. Mine did not. None of those sites link out off of the pages that got hit and then recovered either (e.g. their home pages strictly link to pages within their sites).
