I don't know, but overnight all my listings have dissappered.
I have a PR of 5 and suddenly went from #1 (have been there for years) to page 2 or worse.

I was dropped out of MSN when Amazon and Alexa started using their database, so I ordered a <service that is supposed to boost me on MSN>.

I am wondering if something they did destroyed my Google listings.

Take two weeks off and read everything about "sandbox" and you will know.

Sandboxed?
Why?

Are you telling me that there exists factual information on exactly why a site would be sandboxed? I thought the sandbox story was like the boogy man...it does not exist.

Perhaps you did not read...I have been listed for years, now, without any site changes I am dropped. They are screwing around with the site title and description too, as if reverting to very old site data.
It looks more like a database / algo change.

>> microlinx : how can you be serious ordering s....t like this?
It might not be the reason why you've been dropped, but IMO placing the future of your site in a $19 product is risky for the least.

fg: agreed. It was not smart. however, how the hell can your site be removed or penalized? I thought "there is nothing a third party can do to get your removed or penalized" as google says in their help section.
I already contacted Google and explained the situation. As if that will help.

I have a few PR 5, 6 sites 3 - 4 years old. They got put in the sandbox about a year ago. I totally gave up on one of the sites, people keep linking to it. It went from a PR4 to a PR6 but still no joy.

Just as an update, 2 days later and all is back to normal.
Apparently Google does listen and does make rational decisions.
As a webmaster, you're right, don't risk destroying your established site's reputation by putting the task of SEO into the hands of some bad SEO company (name omitted).

Not to preach to the choir, the best thing to do is be sure you are NOT doing anything black hat. If you are an established site, it may be a penalty. If it IS a penalty, THEN you need to take a year off and read up on proper web design and Google's webmaster guide. As far as the sandbox thing goes, I don't buy it. My site has been online for 10 years.

Thanks G!

What I really want to know is why my PR8 website is still in the sandbox?!?!? It shows on terms, as long as they do not include my main keywords...Google is just very, very stale when it comes to results!
