Hello everybody.

I was wondering how extrem the difference between a one-way link to your website is compared to a link exchange. I'm currently only buying/creating one-way links to my site from other authority sites. Now I'm wthinking about adding a seperate links page where 10 or 20 links to external websites will be placed. Currently i have not a single external link to other websites and the rankings are pretty good. I'm just a bit concerned that this link page will decrease my G rankings. Anybody got experience about this?

Google now seems to like relevant external links, so you might actually improve your ranking with judicious use of them.

Why not link to other sites in context, instead of sticking the links on a "links page"?

If Google does give any kind of credit for external links, common sense would suggest that there would be more credit for relevant in-context links than for links on a ghetto page.

A one way link to you is always better.

A better way to do link exchanges is exchange links on a subject page by page theme rather than a seperate links exchange directory.

Although keep in mind that the top 3 SE's are loving oneway incoming links to your site from any type of site ;-)

That's funny and right-on! As EFV said, "common sense would suggest that there would be more credit for relevant in-context links than for links on a ghetto page."
