Does international links devalue local rankings?

I have a site which ranks among 1-5 places for most keywords in Google. My language is not english, my TLD is .net, and my hosting service is local.

I wonder if incoming international link would devalue local rankings? In other words, would google think I am not anymore a "local site"?

And, if above is not true, would incoming international links raise the "PR" of the site.

Thnx

Good links will never harm a site.

If you have local hosting and local content, you will get local listing - as ever, the quality of the content will be a key decider.

In terms of ranking, it's quality sites, regardless of where they are.

I've never heard of any 'local' factors being included in page ranking - except, of course for local keywords!

May be worth visiting some rival sites, and see how they manage their local content; and be sure you have bricks and mortar details on your contact pages to demonstrate your local credentials.
