On an major keyword we have an affilaite link being indexed in MSN ahead of us. I would love an opinion on how/why this might be happening.

Thats a possible answer.

Why shouldn't an aff link rank higher than you?

If their SEO (Black Hat or not) is *better* than yours then they will rank higher than you.

It's got nothing to do with the site or the SEO. It's a bug. Discussion on this very thing over here in the Affiliate Forum

It's already been explained that it isn't an affiliate's site that's ranking - it's a raw tracking link. Check the other thread.
