I downloaded the new MSN messenger 6.2 service today. Shockingly, it didn't contain many new updates - except for the MSN toolbar which happily installed itself into my IE.

I use Opera or anything but IE, but for those IE users out there (which makes up a large percentage of people), this toolbar will likely increase the number of people using the MSN search by a few fold.

Smart marketing move on behalf of Microsoft...even if it is somewhat sneaky.

I'm pretty sure when I installed 6.2, this was an option(which was checked by default). I guess it's good to pay attention when you are installing software :)

I installed the MSN tolbar on top of the Google and Yahoo ones that I already have on IE.

It's fine until I close the IE window then it's gone again when I re-open.

Interesting that Google and Yahoo can get their toolbars to worlk on Microsoft IE but MSN can't!
