MSN extends contract with Overture

For all the speculation on MSN coming out with their own PPC system, they sure are going to take their time.

I hope this also means that MS will continue to use Yahoo/Inktomi results for its free search until June 2006.

I don't see any advantage for MS to ditch Inktomi, the results are plainly inferior. If it can't handle the PPC side it should know it can't handle the free search element!

Very much doubt that... whilst it may be a couple of months for them to do a full release... why have the search and features out there in beta for another 14 months?

That time can be used for them to learn more from the live environment - especially how to create an "Adsense" type model and of course the PPC model to rival Overture.

Plus the Yahoo Ink results are pony. old and not reflectiove of the latest sites out there - unlike MSN who offer sites that I know were launched in the past 3 weeks the same level of authority as other longer term sites in terms of their ability to be found and seen by surfers.

can you explain that a bit more, i dont understand how being found equates to being an authority....
