Will MSN release their new search engine next spring?

will their new search engine be as innovative as Microsoft 's other product

Msn has leaked to several Trade Magazines that their New Search Engine will:

--> Have internal (hard drive) searching capabilities as well as search the Web during queries...

--> Have Geo-targeting SERPs...

It seems that RELEVANCY will be harder to master than Google
but new search engines may offer "esoteric" features to make themselves stand out!

If they can get a good crawl / index update pattern - that everyone know's about that will help in a big way - probably one of the most important factors to google's growth - however now that G has thrown its robots/algo into a fuzzy mode - this may allow a new SE such as MSN to walk right in pickup G's idea and utilise it to great effect

Regarding the Engine going online for next spring - it's wait and see - though a long time coming - as they are presently delivery SERPs on MSN that are owned by Yahoo.

it was very obvious to all SEOs that MSN would DROP Looksmart - especially when they added the "sponsored links"
option

It seemed very Micosoft-like to either By Them or Go-all-the-way

Will Looksmart survive after MID-January?

Will it modify itself even more
