No matter what the verdict, if the guy across the street from you told everyone that he liked taking little boys to bed with him he would probably be lynched.

That's the thing with this whole case that is so bizarre. Put any average Joe in Michael Jackson's shoes and this case would have been open and shut. Guy sleeps in a bed with little boys. Guy gets boys drunk and shows them dirty magazines. Come on.

The jury lacked common sense, which wasn't surprising. The guy has been accused of pedophilia for over ten years now, with many accusers, it eventually isn't just a coincidence. Sure he has money, but so do a lot of celebrities. I don't see them paying off little boys.

I'm disappointed and in a way ashamed of our judicial system. The people cheering this verdict will be the same ones crying when some pedophile kidnaps a little boy in their neighborhood.

I think MJ chooses his victims carefully. He finds someone who's family has a dodgy past so that they can attack the credibility of the witnesses. It worked this time.
The family should have gone after the money after all. Less proof is required in civil cases, correct Lawman?

As much as we all believe that MJ is a pedophile, the judicial system worked because the prosecution didn't prove that he molested that kid.

Last year I sat on a child molestation jury. When friends/family found out the nature of the crime (not any details), they all assumed the guy was guilty and that we would find him guilty. The system worked exactly as it was supposed to - the prosecution didn't prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, so we found him not guilty. Did he do it? I don't know. All I know is that it wasn't proven to me (or the other eleven jurors) that he did it. All we had was the evidence, or lack thereof, on which to base our decision.

If you're on a jury that starts out with a huge prejudice against a defendant, then the evidence doesn't support the case, you might end up with a different view of the judicial system.

Im surprised I have not seen any books being touted by teh Jurors yet, im sure they could make a few coppers selling them.

I doubt any have the morale fibre not to sell the rights.

How could somebody do that and live with themself afterward? How good a party could it possibly be?

There should be a law against a juror fraternizing with a defendant right after a trial.

the other day I heard on the news about a chlid who had been fondled, pointed out the guy, said guy went directly to jail and was covicted and given 25 years on the childs say so.

I always believed that old saying...Money talks...etc.

I don't beleive for one minute MJ is broke. The word from the Jackson camp just before the virdict was that he planned to start a new neverland in a foreign country....Broke? I think not.

Wonder how much 1 judge and 12 jurers cost anyhoo.

Judge's salary is public record I'm sure. Don't know how jurors are paid in California. In Georgia, they are paid for each day they are in court for jury duty. It's not a helluva lot - I think it's $35 a day.

Cool, without evidence even. Fantastic system.

I meant cost as to how much he wanted to beat the case LOL.

One juror is selling and leaving town, another talked about plans to buy a new home...BUT that was already in the works before the case, YEAH, you betcha.
