I just checked the cache of one of the pages on a site and it said:
Google's cache of [widgets.com] as retrieved on 31 Dec 1969 23:59:59 GMT.
This is the first I've heard of Google existing back in 1969.

It just means that there's no timestamp, thus giving a value of zero. In UNIX (Google uses Linux) time is counted in seconds from midnight on January 1st 1970 (which has a value of one). So the zero once converted from seconds to a date gives you the last second of 1969.
Good to see that Google suffers from the occasional bug, though!
