eBay is to raise fees for many big ticket UK auctions - in some cases doubling commission. The revised tariffs also see some price cuts.

The only good I can see from this is that it will (finally) open up other sites for increased business for people upset with fees on higher priced items.
Currently I can't name one other succesful option to eBay off the top of my head (except for specialty markets like domains & websites). Yahoo auctions can't come close with the sheer number of listings although I think their system is decent.
Now if only Amazon would raise their prices a little ;)
