I have a couple of good friends from Niue. I'll pass on your sentiments that you find their country 'novel' - I'm sure they'll be honoured. I may have to explain to them what a 'webmaster' is though (and for that matter, the Internet), but I'm sure they'll be suitably impressed.

Yes, there are some fairly novel countries on this globe: USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, just to name a few. And I guess that some members would count most European countries to be among them too. About 2300 years ago an Egyptian said to a Greek: "You Greeks are such a young people".

The possibility of .nu domains has been much marketed in Scandinavia and I wonder if most .nu websites actually are Scandinavian. Many Scandinavian webmasters like to have .nu domain because in Scandinavian languages "nu" means "now".

Yep, Niue is a very small country, more of a villiage really, only a thousand people or so live there, 10,000 of them live in New Zealand, as there are no Uni's, High school etc. there, only primary.

LOL... I can see francophone webmasters wanting a .nu domain. nu = naked

If that were my line of work...

Tuvalu has the .tv domain, used by a number of TV companies.

AFAIK Tuvalu has no other export, so a useful source of income for them.
