I'm sure there's a way to retrieve a file even if it's deleted and emptied from the Recycle Bin... right?

Probably not a windows solutions but something very low level. Do you guys know of such a method?

Well, it depends on the filesystem, but yeah, there'a a ton of utilities.

Symantec is a good place to start, as well as a couple of quick searches on Google.

from my own experience, the important thing is to STOP all activity on the computer: don't click or type or do anything that will cause a write to the HDD. if you do, you are possibly overwriting sectors with the data you are trying to recover.

in addition to tools that are part of system suites like Norton, there are freebies that might work for you also.
one i found a couple years ago is called dirsnoop.exe
it fits on a floppy, so i take a copy with me when i'm visiting friend to help them with their machines. i think i found it at simtel or one of the other big software sites.

Try GetDataBack by Runtime software. Great Utility. Best would be to install it on another computer and hook your drive from the computer that you deleted the file on as a slave drive. Then try to run a recovery on it.

Good Luck.
