Hello,

I know this really isn't about the internet or being a webmaster but I am in a kind of a fix.

My 17 month old wandered up and pushed a button or a combination of buttons when I was online.

She managed to enlarge my window size. It wasn't the F11 key. It was in the lower left corner, so I am assuming alt, ctrl or windows key or a combination of them.

The window got WIDER. I have to use scroll bars to even read a regular email or a regular size web page.

What did she do and how can I fix it?

Please help.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Barb. :)

Hard to say what she did. That'd depend on what short-cuts you had set up and how much you really noticed.

You say it widened the screen. Does that include all applications and browsers?

Have you tried adjusting the monitor? Normally, it'd be the largest button on the front.

eh, PC or MAC?

I assume you can not grab ahold of any borders and double click them to full size?

Rebooting probably won't do anything for you, but I've seen it change some weird things before.

Not much, mostly fishing, but you'll find the answer from someone in here.

Pendanticist.

Is it just the window that's bigger, or is the text bigger as well?

Hard to say what she did. That'd depend on what short-cuts you had set up and how much you really noticed.

1) I didn't set up any special shortcuts just whatever comes with my little old pc.
2) Noticed it ... OH YEAH. I think it is a shortcut/feature for those that are visually impared. I have 20/200 vision and I think I could read most everything without my glasses! The screen (and text yes!) is HUGE!

Have you tried adjusting the monitor? Normally, it'd be the largest button on the front

3)Don't think it is the monitor. She has made the monitor do all sorts of things that I can usually fix.

PC or MAC
4) PC

I assume you can not grab ahold of any borders and double click them to full size

5)I can adust the acutal window size (as in I can move the screen and see my desktop also) but it doesn't fix what she did.

Is it just the window that's bigger, or is the text bigger as well
6) EVERYTHING is bigger. For instance, when I am at the forum index page, I have to scroll over to see who posted and when. The text is very large.

Please help. I might go blind everything is so big... I can only back up so far and still reach the keyboard!

Sounds to me like line breaks where removed. This is done differently in different applications. Check your "View" menu to see if there is a command to insert line breaks. That should get rid of the need to side-scroll.

Thanks the advice.

I fixed it. Though I am not actually sure what I did.

I checked the display settings which were not changed but then when I saved the changes(even though I didn't make any) It fixed itself.

Odd.. but it is correct now. Thanks for the advice.
