Too bad advertisers abuse the technology so much that people go looking for countermeasures. Not smart.

I wouldn't call it useless -- it has some good uses. But an ad that continues to play forever is not a good use.

I'm with you, Hugh. There are things Flash can do well that no other current technology can match. And good Flash development can be quite lucrative for the developer as well as the client who deploys it well.

Unfortunately, I am. I actually wasted my time learning Flash, until I realized that there's not too many unique things you can do with Flash that you can't do with Perl, PHP, etc.
