This is actually two Gizmos connected. I want the gizmo on the right.. The one with the 8 gold/brass colored circles. and red in the middle.

not sure if the left item can have multiple attachments or not, but yes, the item on the right is an optional attachment for the item on the left

Yes, it does have to perform a Sensor type function to perform it's job, but a sensor isn't it's primary function
hmmm, I'll have to think about that. It isn't a Strain Gauge, but the item on the left could almost fit into that definition. But, then again, I have no idea what a strain gauge is.
