OK, not getting emotional or anything.

But 7 days ago I was having a whale of a time, with my keywords stuffing, content ****ing, database spamming and guestbook signing "mateys" at Pubcon.

So a few things which happened that made it such a memorable time.

1, Lack of Sleep.

2, DaveN calling me on my phone, within an hour of me going to bed (around 8am)

3, Manageress of The Thistle asking The Manager "What the Fxxx is going on"

4, Waking ciml up every day by banging on his door really early in the mornings.

5, Chris_R mistaking me for a waiter and saying "Check please waiter"

6, Lazerzubb's personal performance which left Matt Cutts in fits of laughter at 3am in Hotel Bar.

7, Waitress at Breakfast asking me something whilst I was 1/2 asleep 1 morning.

8, Sitting in a booth/cubicle at Pubcon with 4 of the most powerful people in the UK search industry.

Lots more, but some just too x-rated here.

sure some of the others will share their experiences.

and please, lets try and keep this as clean and non-offensive as possible.

over to you...

Shak

(I would also like to thank a certain bunch of people, you know who you are, for creating something which is just way too powerful, it means a lot)

Shouting "TOSSPOT" at Tosspot17 across the room and watching him go bright, bright red while waving in my direction.

LOL!

At least it made me feel at home. I'd recommend anyone new to WebmasterWorld choose a slightly obscene username to garner attention at pubcons. "How did you get that past the filters?"... :)

3) NFFC, DaveN and 2_much trying to make me tipsy
4) Being up EARLY in the morning and seeing no one around outside until Brett and HawkGirl exited the hotel
5) Great times with almost everyone I talked with for over 10 minutes.
6) Finding out I am not alone in the universe
7) Discovering Londerners/Europeans think straws are for kids
8) Selfridges and Notting Hill
9) Having DaveN and another person check on me to make sure I was still alive
10) The Savoy Grill with L,C,J,B,D & G.
11) Confusinga Cab driver by giving a tip
12) Almost getting run over twice
13) Seeing the unusually delicious monothematic diet of a certain nameless Google employee.
14) Planning on a couple hour france trip - but not going
15) Having Indian food while learning the subtleties of live such as Olive Oil from David and two other fine gentlemen
16) Breakfast with tedster and go60guy
17) Martin and Calum numerous times
18) Mix One Scot, One Green Eyed Girl, One Guy with a Mac, One Source of Fire, Some Saliva (NOT THE WAY YOU PERVERTS ARE THINKING), several parts of a certain ethanol based product, and a silica based curved container for new sources of great amusement.
19) Dinner with Shak, Martin, DaveN and JenS my first time in London.
20) Hearing a certain employee of a BIG Search Engine (ACCIDENTLY?) reveal something I don't think was intended.
21-101) [REDACTED TO KEEP CLEAN]

Being surrounded by people from all over the world and then meeting someone who lives pretty much round the corner.

Talking scripts with someone, then saying I'd found a perfect script for my needs, after searcing the web for days, which I was very pleased about only to discover it was his website that it was on! small world indeed... thanks tony!

sat at the table with someone from the other side of the world working at the the same computer screen for a change, thanks Jim

Hey ncw you did it! (or didn't in this case hehe) ;)

Yes Richard what were you doing up at that time.

UKgimp you're supposed to drink mixers in your drink!

finding the wrong thai restaurant,

the sheer breadth of knowledge in the room... and that was just shak ;)

seriously though, I miss everyone and everything the whole atmosphere was incredible.

It was a blast. Right now I feel like I'm mute, cos anything I say is jsut gibberish to those around me! And at the same time I know I got sooo much more to learn. Thanks to all those brooding presences (ok, Shak) that seem to make you smarter if you just stand nearby and soak up ;)

Best party ever, how long do you think you can keep up this ruse of a conference? ;) Google has the Gogole Dance, why not the WebmasterWorld Party ;)

Can't wait for Orlando, it'll make me feel sane again.

It was the right Thia resteraunt, Right? No one else there in the family's living room, not sure why they switched the TV off, but hey! Great conversation and food... ...on the down side I've never seen one person eat so much in one sitting, the daughter started to look really ill when Mick ordered his 7th main meal... [bellybuilders.com] ...woops OK [users.dircon.co.uk]

Deciding that site accessibility just meant making the centre column of your 3-column layout wide enough to get a wheelchair through. Possibly not very PC, but a lot easier to code.

I miss DaveN's blurry face and the constant pint in his hand. That man can make severe damage to a mans stash of pints. Unbelieveable.

I miss the fun but meaningless conversations with Oil, Dave, Shak, Dogboy and NFFC. Now that was fun.

Holy moly <snip>. Eeeeeeheeeeee! :)
