Help installing HD needed..

Hi all,

So, here's the coup: I'm not certain which of the two sockets in the motherboard (asus a7v133) the cable (flat, wide one) goes in?

The black one nearest the edge or the blue next to it..

Also, does anyone know what to look for to reset the bios?

Many thanks and sorry for being vague, i wouldn't be in this mess if I knew what I was doing ;)

Well, eventually I blew up the processor! - I now have a new PC.

Sorry to hear about blowing up the CPU. Seems like you had a torturous week......I am sure you learnt alot over the last week about hardware and the slaves and masters. Must have been a good experience. Now, you are ready to fix your next hardware problem without long threads like this one
