I cant seem to find a decent list of all the other IE/Windows shortcuts that arent exactly common knowledge. Maybe we can start a list here?

Or if someone knows a good list...

Windows: Alt->Print Screen
Copies just the active window/dialog box

IE: Ctrl->F5
Refreshes server cache?

Ctrl-print screen will do the whole screen.

I like windows key-m: this minimizes all windows.

Biggest Time saver - shift-F3:

cycles through CAPS, all little, and Formatted (capital letter first) - For when you are not paying attention and hit that pesky caps lock, works in ad-hoc office programs

Well in my case it adds at the end not '.com' but '.co.jp' but that's most likely because my OS and IE are both the Japanese version. Anyway, thanks for the great tip.

Some IE shortcuts -

alt+d - jump to address bar (very handy for keyboard only-ing)

shift+ f10 - mouse right-click

My favourite (and the only reason to use IE IMO ;))

Ctrl+Enter - Add "www." to the beginning and ".com" to the end of the text typed in the Address bar

[oops lazerlubb got this one first...]

winkey shortcuts:

windows key + d - show desktop (minimise all/undo minimise all)

winkey + tab - Cycle through taskbar buttons

winkey + r - run

winkey + e - open explorer.

Happy keyboarding!

When anybody has some spare time ( I wish ) - it would be goog to list all these in one post. (he says without making any attempts to do it himself)

most used for me

alt + F4 to close app
ctrl + w close window

ctrl + tab cycles through windows/files within an app
alt + tab cycles through apps
adding shift will go opposite way for the above 2

ctrl + z undo
ctrl + y redo (program dependant)
ctrl + x cut
nothing more annoyimg than watching someone cut and paste with their mouse and right clicking, makes me want to throttle them

ctrl + s save
ctrl + a select all

funny how all the shortcuts are on the left side for common non fatal actions. More difficult possibly earth shattering ones are more keys and difficult to do with one hand.

almost like someone was thinking ;)

don't know any IE ones because I refuse to sully myself with it.

on a Mac most of those can be supplemented with the apple key, Mac always seemed to have a lot more interesting and useful ones.

Win Key + R + "Calc" (loads Calculator)

Win Key + R + www. + (first few letters of where you want to go, assuming it is in the cache...)

I call my Keyboard Shortcuts "Keyboard Shortcut Nirvana".

I consider this a short cut in Opera, If you have a scroll mouse, you can closed tabbed windows by clicking on the wheel.

Also in opera 7.11 you can copy url's in the usual way paste it in the address bar using Ctrl + D and it automatically go to that web page, same goes with search terms copy and paste using Ctrl + D into the search box does the search you without pressing enter.

regards,
Mark

Is there a shortcut that brings up the shortcut menu?

The third button to the right from Space key between the Windows and Ctrl button. Not all keyboards have it.

Most useful windows button is :- Ctrl + Alt + Del :)

Here are some old ones from Win3.x that still work even in XP. A lot of software don't trap for these because they are so unknown.

ctrl-ins - copy
shift-ins - paste

Also shift+f10 as mentioned above, for those without the 'right-mouse' key.

IE: Ctrl->F5
Refreshes server cache?

I use Ctrl->R

1) I use Shift + Click to open anything in a new window.

2) Print Screen + Esc then open MS Paint and Ctrl + V = Screen Shot :)

3) Most important is the Windows key (If you use a Windows 105 key board) -

Windows key + R gives you Run Comand, then type these and enter to directly go the application:

WinWord = MS Word
Excel = MS Excel
Notepad = Notepad
MSpaint = MS Paint
[www...] .com = Typed URL Website in IE
view-source:http://www .com = Typed URL source code in notepad

And many more...
