anyone else having trouble with the Web right now?

I almost feel silly posting this, but I'm having trouble connecting with two different sites I routinely connect with, using two completely different internet connections. From San Francisco Bay Area. Browser cached refreshed and all that...

Anyone else having problems? I continue to connect with WebmasterWorld and much of the rest of the Web just fine.

Don't feel silly Robert - I think this is a real problem at the moment :(.

I'm getting inconsistent results from servers mostly located in the US. Could be some temporary dramas with the major datacenters.

It looks like there is a backbone problem somewhere. Look at the above chart and then click on the severe and critical numbers (yellow and red respectively).

I got a message from my hosting company and it's probably relevant:

"There is a major fiber cut that has taken place in Palo Alto, California. This is affecting peering and routing. There is no estimated time of repair at this time...."

Well, actually, the human brain is one of the things I was beginning to worry about... On one of the sites, I'd recently put up a custom 404 page, new robots.txt, and I'd updated .htaccess; and I was beginning to imagine I might have misconfigured something to cause Googlebot to make endless requests for the robots.txt, filling up the log file and crashing the whole server. More than a momentary thought. ;)

Yes, dunno what's happening, i just woke up and i see my host and everything i own is down, but they don't use SQL they use apache.
Server is in Amsterdam.

My knowledge of US geography is pretty slim, but if Fremont is as close to Palo Alto as I think it is, then my good opinion of HE.net has gone up even more - no outages, no downtime.
