There could be loads of plausible answers to this one.

i.e he own stocks and the stockmarket goes up.
i.e he's got a satellite phone connects to the internet and wins 3 million on an online casino etc. etc.

Hes no stock holder, although plausable hes juts not, and doesnt have a satellite phoine as he has no contact with the outside world whatsoever :)

Does someone with him die and he's getting life insurance money?

(Morbid, I know, but these teasers can often have morbid answers!)

no death, hes on his own and has no contact with anyone whatsoever. Although he could have bought a lottery ticket he didnt, and consider that he made £3million he must be british and no-one ion britain ever wins that much on the lottery becasue its a con, although that will proabably be edited out, nevermind. Although it si feasible that he bought a lottery ticket hge just didnt, i keep adding bits to this dont i .. but im not cheating.

Has he pretended to be kidnapped, gone on a cruise and will get the ransom money when he gets back? (I have a criminal mind, don't I!).

Can we have a clue or more info?

Hmmm, Noel Coward in the Italian Job comes to mind here!

Is the crime taking place on the cruise ship?

Kind of, the cruise is an essential part of the crime, you must know the answer by now,... I have another teaser ready for when you do.. Although Macguru will proabably get it straight away, which willshorten the fun :)

Obviiously, the ship hits an iceberg because the cap'n's been hitting the bottle. He survives, but he's got a serious neck injury. Insurance kicks in, he gets 3 million quid and he's off to the races.

The guy probably earns 3 million per year on his job (maybe a ceo), so you can say he makes 3 million no matter what - you don't say he made it on/during the cruise.

Of course that does not explain the crime....., or maybe the crime is that he earns too much.

This is old, but here we go.

A man is standing outside his house when he sees a bear. He grabs his shotgun to chase the bear. He follows it ten miles south, when the track turns. He then walks ten miles west, where he almost looses the bear. The track, however, continues north for another ten miles, where the man notices that he has returned to his cabin. The question is: what was the colour of the bear?
