I am a word with 5 letters.

Adding two letters will make me smaller.

What am I?

And adding three letters makes you smallest, right?

Try this one (it's not a typing error) I need a four-letter word as the answer:

What is an anagram

Your question shows you've found the best answer, though there is at least one other...

What is an anagram

And an anagram of what is a synonym for "defrost". ;)

Next up...

What is the beginning of eternity, the end of time and space, the start of every end, and the end of every race?

This is a part of some advanced IQ tests. You have only 20 seconds to figure it out.

The four images described below spell a word, what is it?

__Up arrow__ __right arrow__ __left arrow_ __down arrow__

Noone get it yet?

Patience. It's kind of hard to visualize 4 arrows.

Are they all the same size?.. thick or thin?.. in a row or are they touching?

Want the answer?

Not yet. Just quite difficult to visualise. Are the lines between the words part of the images or are there only the arrows?

There are only 4 arrows, I was just trying to map it out and describe the images without being able to show it in image format.

They are regular arrows, nothing tricky, nothing special.

Here's a hint:

The arrows themselves do not spell out the 4 letter word...they each symbolize or represent the letter in its place.

Adding two letters to short makes you shorter, not smaller :)

Told ya it was easy, bout this one.

Two naughty children are punished by their mother, she makes them both stand on the same page of yesterdays newspaper. She does it in such a manner that the children cannot touch each other. How? It is not two copies of yesterdays paper nor is the paper torn in half. :)

jackofalltrades

its a really big page?

broadsheet? :)

jackofalltrades

2:23 pm on Dec 30, 2002 (gmt 0)

ah no!

They were naughty on different days and therfore stood on different papers on different days. :)

Mike12345

Nope, it'd have to be the broadest broadsheet in the world, just a regular paper, could be the indy though either way they cant touch each other :)

No on the same day as well. :)

jackofalltrades

2:30 pm on Dec 30, 2002 (gmt 0)

2 children could technically stand on a single page of a broadsheet without touching.....

OK...does anyone have 2 children and a broadsheet handly to test this? ;)

Possible other answers:

>she's cruel, and has bound them both in some way...
>the children are freakishly small

This is indeed a cruel and unusual punishment, so id have to go with the wicked monther answer.

Its not that they could touch each other if they wanted to its that they physically cant, they are not bound, although perhaps if they were they would learn there lesson and not mis-behave again. They may be freakislhly small but they still cant touch each other. Does that even make sense... hmm im not sure :)

Are the children on either side of a door standing on the same piece of broadsheet newspaper? The paper going under the door, the children are then unable to touch each other?
