This is cutting edge technology developed in a research laboratory so I wouldn't say it's being mass produced at the moment. I could be wrong though.

Must be used with two identical units to enhance patterns for matter/energy conversion for teletransportation. Now only used at the atomic level. Someday will be used to transport people.

The article makes no referance as to the material it is made of, but I would assume it's silicon based.

It's not a tracking device or used inside of the body *now* but who nows what wonders this technology has for the future.
