yes his adsense went from 27k down to 4k but he says he added affiliate links, i am willing to bet he devisified his income which while maybe not making 27k anymore is a smart move. Too many eggs in one basket is foolish even as a publisher, as someone stated wisely on another post we are all one bad decision from google away from being broke.

Since I've deversfied with affiliate links, I don't check my Adsense stats 90 times a day. I don't worry about getting booted out of adsense. Moreover, the affiliate links are converting, and I do great. The only thing I miss is the timely payments from Google, and the ease of getting one big check every month.

The best Affiliate deals I have pay maybe $30-$40 a month, and there are only two that I've found that are actually effective. So if I have a choice between making $30 a month or $30 in three days, I'll post up adsense ads before I post up affiliate links.

The only exception is on a site I have that's #1 on google and yahoo for a specific search, I use affiliates that are pretty much guaranteed to pay off because they are directly related to the site content.

Starting from the Nov 2004,
$10,780.47
$26,888.40
$27,144.34
$23,111.45
$11,528.33 <- Adsense earnings took a dive, replaced with affiliate links mid month
$3,435.08 <- Adsense earnings with new placement & affiliate links
$3,379.47
$4,432.21 <- Last Month

I have a tech oriented site, with about 1.5 million page views per month. No spam, basic seo, no paid advertising.

My affiliate links have performed exteremly well. I do miss the gigantic check from google.. but still 4 grand+ is great!

So, you invested 0 cents in advertising and you got 1.5 million page views per month? How did you achieve that? You claim "basic seo" - sorry, I don't buy it.

Basic seo is the key, most over look it and look for fast easy tricks. Its a long road, great stuff does not come from over night, and is not easy.

I've just put adsense onto our site, which is full of tourist information stuff, and has about 1 million page views or 100k unique IPs per month. We made 7 dollars yesterday. I don't think its going to pay the wages of the 9 people I employ!

I'm getting over a million page views per month and have never spent a dime on advertizing. I do have 1,400+ pages though. But "basic seo" is what has driven the page views.

LOL. Believe it or not, many webmasters here have managed to get their websites on top of the search engines in various keywords without spending a dime to achieve million or so pageviews.

We don't do PPC ever; we don't buy text links on other websites but we are well placed in not one but hundreds of well-trafficked keywords. Just plain white hat SEO (heck, we don't even have H1 or whatever on our website yet we are doing extremely well on the search engines). Word of mouth, longevity of the site, quality of the site that makes other people link to you without you asking them are some of the factors that can help a website win via pure basic SEO.

It CAN be done. And it is such a nice feeling that the amount you earn from Adsense is mostly profit (with only the time you spent on it as the main expense). And many Adsense publishers are doing just that. Not everyone here has to spend for PPC hoping that the traffic would click on Adsense ads.

>> This guy earns $100 maybe before 10 am everyday. Great for him! Cut him some slack. He's just bursting with happiness (or pride), whatever the case maybe.

I agree. No need to be hatin' :). Apparently he worked hard, and it's paying off.

I've got one site averaging 600,000 page views a month, and I don't spend a cent on advertising.

yeah... you guys are getting rich with millions of page views per month. What else can I say. The whole concept of making money, earning money, spending money is stupid. We all deserve to have millions of dollars without any effort at all. After all, money is nothing but an ink on a quality paper. But, my wish is a fantasy... and reality is obviously different. Working my job 9-5 for small amount of money pisses me off. Hopefully, adsense will change that... (someday).

Hello guys,

First of all, I would like to congratulate all of those who are making so much money. Really you seem to be pretty good :)

I'm also running a website with about 7800 unique visitors per day and about 230 clics Adsense.
So I wonder if I can improve this?

When you are earning 10k per month, what's the percentage of people clicking on the ads?

cheers :)

Mostafa, are you perhaps from Sarajevo?

Why does it matter where he is from? I am Bosnian too; Bosnian-Canadian to be more precise, so what?

Well, I am originally from Sarajevo too and I can guarantee you, out of half million former and current autochthon inhabitants, there is no single person with the name Mostafa.
The guy picked up some typo from somewhere or combined the names (family name seems OK). He is probably just trolling around.

You know, every time I read "AdSense is free money", or "I never have paid for advertising", I cringe. I hope that the readers of these comments are aware that building a successful AdSense income as well as high traffic is not easy or free. It takes many hours of hard work, and lots of time paying dues. It took me six years and almost twenty thousand pages of content to achieve 1.5 million page views monthly without paying for advertising. Now, maybe some of you achieved high traffic and income without working your tail off, however most of have had to work for it.

So, for all of you our there whom beleive a bunch of publishers are getting free money and traffic, well they are not - they already paided the dues and put in the time , effort, and knowledge to build a significant website (sweat equity).

Nothing is free.

Rant over...

Mostafa is English language alternative to local "Mustafa". Beside that, how do you know that "Mostafa" is his real name? "MOSTAFA" is only his nickname.

No, I don't think he would do it in that way, if legitimate person. I just know the spirit.
Besides, there are some other small discrepancies which all point toward "general error".

There is one thing I always hated about our (Bosnian) community - and that is = jelaousy. Instead of celebrating other people's successes, 'we' tend to downplay them.

However, I respect your opinion.

Dantol, it has nothing to do with (any) community.
I think the guy is complete fake, that's all.

Is this turning into something political?

Look whether the guy is fake or not does it really matter? It certainly has n't harmed my enjoyment of this inspiring thread.

A popular network of sites earns around $ 2400 per day through adsense only.

Yeah, that's what I thought too.. Anyway, I'd like to hear from him if he's running any human rights site. But again, there is no reason for him to tell me that. BTW, he already forgot his own thread leaving those silly remarks behind... Funny, this thread is so popular lol

Google does not allow publishers to discuss CTR rates, so I will not put myself in a position to break the rule.

I receive close to 1.6 million impressions per MONTH (combined total).

My average pay per click is about $0.25 to $.30 cents.

Despite saying he wouldn't publish his CTR, he kinda did by giving everything you'd need to work out the CTR! Take the $14,653.27 in.. 14653.27 / .275 = 53285 clicks .. out of 1.6 million impressions a month is.. 3.33% CTR. I know someone above pointed this figure out, but I thought I'd show the working. It's amazing how many people give away this info and forget it can be worked back :)

Look, there is no doubt that some people make a lot, even more than those figures Mostafa presented.
Of course, for networks is that even easier.
But you have to be careful, especially young people, not to believe in everything someone claims.
Wrong advice and easy expectations can cost you a lot.
No success comes easy way, not even with adsense.
