Would anyone be interested if I set up a site that showed a collation worlwide holidays for the major world countries.
There are several already available, just Google "earth calendar" and you'll find a good one.
There, that got round posting a link:-))
In any case, holidays can vary even within a country and other factors like the weather can play a big part in how much traffic a site gets. And weather can vary across a country too. The factors are numerous.
I see spikes in traffic for certain sites during holidays, other sites where traffic peaks Monday to Friday (when people are surfing from work) and so on.
July 4th happened to be my best day for clickthroughs and traffic (although not quite earnings unfortunately) since starting with adsense.
perhaps the all-accounts result over the holidays would be .95, but some individual sites would be .75 and others would be 1.2
i don't see what you would do with the info. if your trends followed the overall trend then you would feel relieved, but if it went the other way, which is highly possible, then you would be dismayed.
other than it being interesting, what would you do with this info? would you optimize more, or give up on sites faster? i don't see how it would really benefit you or google or the advertisers.
Starting to get worried. Emailed google adsense support but haven't heard from them.

Edit:
Okay, my face is properly red :-0
The date range got stuck....it has been going to each day automatically without me changing it...but not this time LOL.
I still get nicely targetted ads. I still have the same level of traffic. I still have the same CTR. The only thing that has changed (drastically) has been the EPC. I assume it is due to "smart pricing". Whatever it is, it has become essentially a dead fish for me.
EPC somewhat down from a year ago, but CTR has quadrupled, so I'm well ahead.
The worse part about it is that I've played the game honestly and am being punished for it. I never thought I'd be saying this, because I've always been a staunch supporter of Google, but I can't wait for Yahoo's program to launch. I can't imagine them treating their publishers worse than Google has recently.
July has really went up for me: visitors, clicks, and MONEY! Looking forward to this check I can tell you!Average daily income went up to better than double last months...whooohoo!
Probably won't last but while it does....Va va voom
Ann, which country are you from? i have few doubts that Google might have changed its sharing ratio on Country of AdSense publisher [Geographical Algo implemented in sharing too ;-) ], but this might be an assumption only.
When I first started with AdSense (March 2005), I saw this web page that had a months worth of earnings listed from a site advertising a "earn more from AdSense" book. It had all of the daily earnings listed on this page and in each day's business was about a 2% fluctuation in earnings. Yeah right! Does anyone else see a consistant earnings amount?

i have surprisingly stable earnings. i have several sites that cover a broad array of topics, so they seem to even out. i still have weekly fluctuations, ie. weekends slower than weekdays etc. but when i compare one monday to the next or one saturday to the next, the results are very predictable.
i did experience a slowdown over the long weekend, but i am back to normal now.
i am sure that one factor is the size of your account. if you have a relatively small site that targets one niche, then a single advertiser that pauses a campaign for a weekend would have a dramatic effect on your earnings. or if an advertiser overbids for a campaign and lets it run for awhile, you can have big spikes in earnings. as your site grows and broadens, these peaks and valleys flatten by cancelling eachother out.
