Added--> I totally agree with Import Export. Some people are just trying to make friend and build a rapport with their fellow webmasters.
I'm still a student and all the extra income is really a nice extra. I still live with my parents so I don't have a lot of expenses so I'm able to save most of my income..
Adsense and other programs do well for the moment but it won't last forever.. So my plan is to earn as much as possible and reinvest it later into other things. Maybe I'll even start up my own company within 5-7 years.

kuyu, please try again. Start a new topic. It's obvious this question won't get you any serious answers. People tend to not have limits on how much they want to earn. Those who do have a limit tend to revise it as soon as they get there.
I regard Adsense as a great bonus but I am very aware that it could end very quickly (repeated clicking by a competitor?) or fairly quickly (large scale click fraud on the whole content network).

I suspect that a lot of people don't really care about being in the UPS Club.
Trying to guess a publishers goals is pretty hard to do.
One of the great things about Adsense is that it gives publishers a chance to pursue whatever financial goals they may have for their website.
Sure a lot of publishers would like to be in the UPS club, but those are more likely folks who are at least trying to make a living on the web. That's great, more power to them.
I suspect there are a ton of Adsense publishers who are just glad to get hosting fees out of the deal. These are folks who for whatever reason have a website, maybe it's a hobby, maybe it's a club of some sort, who knows. But Adsense helps keep the cost down a bit and that'sall they are after.
For them, money is not the focus, at least not the main focus. The money is also pretty easy to come by, post the code and wait for the check, that's all there is to it.
As for me, I'm a long way from the UPS Club, and it's definitely not on my list of goals or expectations.
Maybe I could get there with my site, but frankly I suspect the price would be higher than I'm willing to pay.
I've spent the last few days thinking about whether I want to even have Adsense on most of my pages.
I'm not opposed to advertising, affiliate spots, or Adsense in general.
I do want quality.
If Adsense can't deliver that consistently enough, that's more important to me than the money when it comes to what I post on my pages.
In some ways it was a shame when G allowed up to 3 blocks of adds with 5 in each as it encouraged the spawning of purely made for adsense sites with no real content just adds which may well be the thing that kills contextual advertising for small publishers , there will still be advertising available as income but advertisers and middle men G$$gle could become more disriminating , While I agree they should start vetting sites deeper than currently one of the outcomes may be that a minimum traffic level will be needed so hurting a number of innocent publishers

Edging into the UPS club could be completely undesirable if you pay $20,000 a month in advertising to get your traffic. People often forget that some in the UPS club pay a lot of money every month to get or stay there.
I tried 2 x 5 blocks making a 1 x 10 in the rhs column and my earnings actually went down! As soon as I reverted to a 1 x 5 block earnings returned to average...
What did that tell me? I have no idea but on another site I went from a central 1 x 4 horizontal to 2 x 4 vertical blocks and the clicks went up by sixfold!
One thing I do know is that Google's quick statistics let me know what is working and what is not very rapidly.
I want enough to start my own evil empire and to afford my own "mini me" and a white cat I can pet as I lecture in a nasal voice to the do gooders who try to stop me from taking over the world.
