Does the 1099s include the November earnings that they sent at the end of December which we didn't even get last year?

My 1099 is for a figure about $1 less than my July-November earnings.

This "my check has/has not arrived" thread is getting just as popular as the old "has the update started yet" threads used to be before Google changed the system.

I'm from the UK and the answer to that would be no. As to the reason the cheques are not here yet - well the only reason I can think of is all those recently cancelled planes from the UK to America (and the return flights) on which our airmail Google Adsense cheques would be carried being cancelled.

So, the backlog in airmail that I presume the above is the cause is probably the reason. It annoys me though when:-

The September cheque was delayed for weeks by a mail strike.

The October cheque goes out a week late because of a holiday in America - well that was the reason given anyway... but it delayed it by about a week.. although possibly their recently implemented tax system had something to do with it.

The November cheque is delayed because of the Christmas post.

The December cheque (which I thought would get here without delays) gets mired in an airmail backlog caused (I presume) by the Americans getting twitchy about certain flights. *sigs* Well I suppose this is par de course for international trade.

My November check was lost in the mail between me and the bank (Europe-USA). Need to wait for re-issueing February 15th.

My December check was lost in the mail between Google and my agent in the US. Need to wait until Mid March.

I started making AdWords advertisers happy on my sites as early as end October and haven't seen a single dime yet (and the AdSense income looks pretty impressive at the report page, not in my bank account though (yet).

>there have been posts on this forum from people in Google Adsense whose cheques have been posted but were intercepted on route and cashed

But Google agreed upon reîssueing them, does that mean the banks who gave out the money without proper checking will go empty?

As far as I know - Google reissues cheques to people who have cheques not delivered to them by them being lost in the post. As to whether they reissue them to people whose cheques are intercepted and cashed - I don't know and suggest you ask Google.

Tell Google. If you log in to Adsense, then click on Contact Us (in the top right hand corner) you can send them a message (choose the subject payments). Tell them which cheques you haven't received, ask them if they've been cashed and ask them to reissue them to you. They'll reply by email.

level80, thanks, I did, only they replied but did not go into detail as of whether someone had cashed, just that they will consider re-printing.

I am sweating here. Couple of thousand bucks on the line where I actually tossed quite some other relationships for the AS program.

Mail does NOT take this long.
The old check is in the mail excuse is just that...
They are holding onto money for interest purposes as long as they can and lying to us about prompt payment.
I can't believe how docile everyone is about this.
I only wish there were a viable alternative to AdSense, some real compeition.
With no competition, Google will only drag its heels more and lower the rates.
Mark my words.

level80 is correct in stating that checks lost in the mail can be reissued - to do so, you can email AdSense support after 30 days, or 40 days if you're outside of the U.S.

As far as checks that are lost and cashed by someone else, the support team is unfortunately not able to reissue in that situation. To the extent that the information is available, they can let you know whether your check has been cashed or not, and if it has been, they may be able to provide you with a copy of the cancelled check so that you can pursue the appropriate actions to recover your money.

Yes, I can see it from Google's point of view though. If they mailed the check to you and it was cashed the money has gone from them (presumably to you). If you then ask for the check to be reissued Google would have to pay the money out twice on both cheques. Intercepting cheques in the mail and cashing them is illegal in most countries under numerous laws.

The alternative would be for Google to put a stop on the cheque somehow however:-

a) this would cost them money
b) it would be useless if the cheque had been already cashed

Anyway I'm glad Adsense Advisor cleared it up.

I got my 1099 today but, not my december check.

The 1099 was post-marked January 30.

You got the 1099 that was postmarked Jan.30?

LOL, we get the 1099s faster than the checks which were postmarked like a week BEFORE the 1099s.

AdSenseAdvisor ,

1099 are by law suppose to be mailed by January 31st. Adsense "contact" has not replied to ANY contacts forms i have filed out over the last 2 weeks. (2 contact ).

precisely what do we need to do to receive a response?

If we made under 600 dollars would we still be getting a 1099? I am only waiting on that to file my taxes. I wish this system would be a bit more prompt.

You are only going to get a 1099 if Google paid you more than $600.

Since they didn't include the November payment (sent late December), you would have had to have earned $600 prior to that, or you aren't getting one.

As far as the mailing goes, companies had until February 2nd this year, as the 31st was a Saturday.

There's obviously some issues that Google needs to get fixed soon.

ISense drastic changes in AdSense program soon.. reduced payout percentages, and a massive reduction in the number of publishers.
