Anyone else experiencing half ecpm? since 5th May.
My eCPM remained within normal range. Earnings were lower, though.
Saturday May 6th is Derby Day! Kentucky Derby Day [kentuckyderby.com]!
Woo hoo! Time to go see the ponies run!
if i recall correctly there was a major change to adsense on the 5th of may 2005.
05.05.05 was a horrible, horrible day for me and quite a few others, my earnings dropped by more than 33% overnight and it took me months of experimentation to resolve the situation.
I think a loss of 9,000$ is a problem to be honest with you because I'm hoping to be investing in the project further in which will turn heads, possibly the music industry and more.. without that extra money I'm set back a few months.
Ohwel life goes on. Time to spend some more on adwords maybe to account for my losses.
There is valueable traffic at stake and you know who will get it? that's right the lowest bidders in which results in a low Click value and low eCPM indicator tells me that from the moment the sun hit us.
Regards,
GP.
It's probably the freaky weather of good sun
Not everywhere is having your weather...
so lets all pray guys.. lets all worship the fact that adwords has this button and we could all be saved.
Since when did I, or others, suddenly become "ALL" and having to pray for you? This is an individual endeavour for most of us.
from the moment the sun hit us.
Right, and again, so the weather is the same all over the world?
Think outside of your multi-Dollar box and question what else may possibly be happening...like your targeted audience having NO money to spend!
Not everywhere is having your weather...
Whilst it might not be localised weather behaviour that is causing the changes, surely there are seasonal ups and downs where traffic is concerned.
I also notice that nobody on this Adsense forum is talking about the (possible) Google SERP updates that are being discussed on other forums.

It's strange, everybody's complaining about dropping income, but mine is growing steadily.
We do see much negative feedback regarding April, however there are possibly many site like yours that are actually performing quite well at the moment too. It would be interesting to see if the picture is as gloomy as many of us here paint it (myself included) when Google announces it's earings that pertain to the current period.
Greedy player: im in the UK and my user base is UK.. and it appears all over the UK is sunny this last few days... so excuse me for not stating my obvious.
so maybe its just a UK thing... but also in other states its also special times for things... my thoughts are that im getting low bid ads.. or google adwords have dropped their proces game as they might do on a regular basis and people have to bid up again. (assumptions not facts)
See ya'
oh yeah, and my AdSense is back to normal today...
Last month was OK, the month before was record-breaking. So goes the AdSense see-saw.

We all like to try and find reasons for a reduction in earnings however trying to use the weather is always a bit tame.
I'm in the UK too, it's Sunday afternoon and I have just spent the last 6 hours driving through torrential rain and the motorway was packed! So much for everyone staying in when the weather is supposedly crappy and going out when it "appears" great. Incidentally it was not wall-to-wall great weather over the UK on Saturday.
Sometimes we have to accept the obvious and that is many people just do not have the money to spend when a government has already taxed one to the hilt.
OK, so I'm generalising now however I'm sure you get my point.
It would be fantastic to have a new record month after month however the AdSense rollercoaster just ain't that smooth.
It's very tempting to judge daily AdSense earnings however it's far better to look at the medium to long term trends, and by that I mean a minimum 3 to 6 months. Some of us can do that for 3 years and before anyone says it, yes, I've been guilty of short-termism however only when there appears to be a continuing anomally.
Give it a few days and see what happens, my earnings are down right now but I'm not panicking...yet!
Another theory is maybe everyone at school has finished and a niche which involves teens might die at summer, this is me out the boat for a few months.
Anyone know what day 16-18 year olds officialy broke or break up for the holidays?
I simply cannot see weather, seasons and holidays effecting earnings that quickly worldwide, I believe IT HAS TO BE one of three things. 1.) Advertisers paying less or 2.) Advertisers pausing campaigns or for my conspiracy mind 3.) Google taking a larger cut.
It is also very unfortunate that we cannot all trust each other enough to disclose our "Topic" so that we can better analysis the drop (or increase) in certain sectors. Its frustrating reading about others dropping in revenue and not knowing if they are in the same general topic as you.
Maybe a separate topic but how could we work together to understand this? Actually this gives me an idea for a new site...... Wish I had more time!
/me thanks the rain in the UK lol.
