Wanted to post part of the message I received back from Google regarding payments for those interested:
<Woz> Apparently there are slight delays for October payments as a result of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.</Woz>
So hopefully we'll all have our checks soon and in time for the holidays :-)

As smart as they are, I would think they would know how to read a calender by now... mine had that holiday printed on the page for a year now. And why do they have to wait until the very last day of their 30 day grace period to pay? why not send them out earlier then? I know their terms are completely one sided, but I say this is breach of contract and bad business. lame.
I don't think anyone has to worry about not receiving their checks - and don't forget that people have had their checks in hand before the payments showed up in the account payment history. So the checks could be well on their way, even though it doesn't show up in the accounts yet.
And a final thing to remember - right now, the post office is dealing with the largest mail volume of the year, so it can be expected that mail might take an extra day or two to get from Point A to Point B.
That seems unambiguos enough.
I don't doubt for a minute that Google will come through with the payment sooner or later, but I am a teeny bit dissapointed that they haven't dropped me a courtious note to let me know the payment is/will be a bit late this month.
Or maybe the check has been sent, just someone hasn't gotten around to updating the Payment history page yet... hmmmm, better check the mail again just in case. :)
The Gospel According to Google says: "We will mail you a check for your account balance within 30 days of the end of every calendar month that your earnings amount to $100 or more".That seems unambiguos enough.
does it mean that checks for October 2003 should arrive by the end of November 2003?
Strange because I haven't got mine yet and we have arleady December (more than 30 days). I don't even have it marked as "sent" in the control panel of AdSense!
Can anybody tell when approx. I can expect the check for October to arrive to me (to Europe).
I don't even have it marked as "sent" in the control panel of AdSense!
What it says in the control panel doesn't really mean all that much when it comes to receiving checks. People received their checks before it ever showed up in the control panel.
Until it either shows up in the control panel, or people start receiving them, there is not really anything we can do to make the process quicker - unless you have forgotten to submit your tax information.
From George Reyes' (Google's CFO) perspective, every day that he delays sending the checks is another day that he collects interest on the money. There is no incentive for Google to send checks early, and plenty of incentive to wait until the last possible day.
If that's the case, then why don't they delay the checks EVERY month? Or do you think they're using the holiday season as a cop-out?
Kinitz : I live in Belgium, and last two times I got it quicker than most guys in the US :p I already had my check for a few houres when topics were popping up that checks had arrived in the US.
I live not far from Belgium. Have you got the check for October 2003? You say "got it" but I am not sure whether you are referring to former months or to October 2003?
