Breakdown is...
total traffic up by 40% as opposed to last two Oct
total ctr down by 20% as opposed to last two Oct
total revenue loss across the network is 39%,
Factoring growth in traffic numbers to last years numbers our network has dropped roughly 58% in epcm over the last year and change.
The larger the traffic pool you have the easier it is to see what is happening and when you have tens of millions of pvs a month across 30 plus sites the picture isnt pretty :/
We still take it all in stride, I mean someone has to pay for that Jumbo Jet :)
I was wondering, I had to agree to Google's new T&C's a couple of days ago in order to keep receiving cheques from them. Is it possible that advertisers also have to agree to a new set of T's and C's and until they do their adverts get withdrawn? I realise this is a real long shot, but you never know...
If that were the case then lots of people would be affected. But earnings haven't been going down across the board. In our case, Monday to Thursday was normal, Friday was lower-than-normal, then Saturday a record day ($1 more than the recent Saturday when we had a click dump). Today has the makings of an unusually good Sunday.
The tide comes in and goes out, it's one of those natural laws. It's not unusual for the difference between high and low tide to be as much as 80%. With a thread titled "Earnings Going Down" it's likely to attract those experience low tide at the moment. But <scots accent>dinna worrey, Jim, it's nut t'end of life as we noo it. Adsense Enterprise is a strung ship, she'll get us there in the end.</scots accent>
Everyone who says that you can't look at stats on a daily, or weekly, or even monthly basis - is correct!
I breathe a lot easier comparing trends to previous years stats instead of looking at it month to month.
I used to stress on this a lot.
It looks like something definitely happened since late October that has caused a lot of folk's adsense incomes to drop.
Just got a call from the admin. Seems it may have been hacked at the core and they are going to first try taking the hard drive and putting it in a new machine, should know something in about an hour.....Looks like another bad day in blackrock, Jesse James has come to town.
Adsense is really going to be bad today but it is hitting the admin even harder than me. :(
Darn script kiddies!
What eCPM?
The overall eCPM for my site.
The page impression count is only correct since May 5th 2005.
That's news to me.
Did You change number of ads per page?
No.
Do You use AdLinks?
No.
For what it's worth, EPC is also up from Nov 1-6, 2004 to Nov 1-6, 2005, though not by as much as eCPM. (It's up about 10%.) So the trend has definitely been positive.
for many of us, before Google, we didn't make a cent on building a website around something we really knew a lot about or simply enjoyed.
Yup! That's where I came from.
I'm down quite a bit from my summer peak, but I'm still up quite a bit from last November at this point. But last November my numbers were moving up, unlike this year.
What troubles me is that there seems to be less ad inventory available in my sector. The ads that are available seem to be paying about 10% less and are less well targeted, which apparently can lead to a lower CTR.
Add it all together and you can get less money at the end of the month from the same or greater traffic numbers.
That said, compared to the first couple years when I had no income from my hobby oriented site.... well this aint bad.
On the other hand, I'm not trying to live off the money either, that would change a persons perspective considerably.
