Clustering servers....

I currently have a custom CMS and backend which allows people to register for my site. I am moving to a system in the near future (<1 year) and will require at least 2 servers possibly more with some being web servers and some powering the database (MySQL). Everything is programmed in PHP.

I was wondering what it entails to make sure this program including the user system, CMS and backend to work across clustered servers. I no longer have a business relationship with the original programmer, but it is commented very well.

What can I expect to pay for someone to make sure this works across multiple servers, will things need to be reprogrammed?

Thanks!

The amount of changes that you will need to make depend on how your CMS is configured. Does your site uses features that rely on UDP traffic such as wget etc?
