curl and firewall issue

can firewall block curl

Im using curl with skipjack and cannot get to the site.

As a test I did a simple curl redirect command.

The funny thing is, I can redirect to any page on my site,
but cannot get to the outside world.

I tried using port 80 which is wide open, and tried a redirct to cnn.com but no luck. Anywhere on my website, I can redirect no problem. Looks like a firewall
issue, but can't figure out why curl is being blocked, if im
using the common http port (80).

Any ideas.

Found the problem. Our ISP blocks all outbound connections (with the type of connection being determined by the source of the first packet) on all ports.

actually I missed this, mine does the same unless you have a business connection
