Problems with IE6 and gzip compression

Hit the page, just bgcolor. Refresh, page appears. Mozilla works fine.

What's the deal here? I enabled gzip compression in my php.ini, and the results are marvelous, speed-wise and bandwidth-wise.

Except for this problem.

In IE, I whenever I hit a page for the first time (lately) it just shows my blue background color, nothing else. Nothing in View Source. Click Refresh, up pops my page. Happens quite consistently--let some time pass, come back to that page, same deal. Every page on the site does it.

Mozilla has no problem. What's the deal here? I really want to use gzip compression, but I can't if it keeps doing this. Does it at the office and at home both.

I had quite a few problems with the native gzip dll in IIS. I changed to a third party product and it works perfectly every time.
