Hi,

I have recently installed PHP 5.0.4 on my Fedora Core 4 system... I have edited the php.ini and turned on magic quotes and etcetera, now the pages that I am hosting which have characters that need to be escaped (mostly ' or ") are showing as? question marks!.

[fedora.redhat.com...] -- even Fedora's own website under their updates section is showing question marks?

I don't quite understand what is happening at all - if anyone could help that is great. I have searched the web with no luck of finding anything even close to a solution...!?

Cheers,

Sam.

au_sammy, have you tried contacting fedora directly about this issue?

A wild guess: You are missing a character set, UTF-8, ISO (whatever) ..

Until I installed a Chinese/Japanese character set, all their text came in as question marks.
I still can't read Chinese etc. but the characters display properly now. -Larry
