Retrieving url information from another site

I need to build a catalog, where users can add their www-page. I have a requirement to place answer link to my site in their resource.
But i would like to scan for my link in their site. How i can do it?

Basically I think you need a web bot to search the sites you want, then you can analyze the results with a php script. I don't think it's feasible to use a php script to obtain the information, but it could be possible I suppose.

A search for 'web bot' or 'web monitor bot' is my best suggestion. I haven't used anything like this, but it seems like a good solution to your request.
