Finding a php development company

I do web design work for various people, and one client is needing an online quote system for manufactured steel buildings.

They have shown me a website with the type of system they need, and it would be a lot more complex than I even want to attempt.

I have explained to them that what they really need for this is a true php developer, who can create a system for this.

How do you go about finding a company? I could just search blindly on the net, but since I have never dealt with, or looked for, a company to do this sort of thing, I really have no idea where to begin.

Any suggestions?

there are a lot of contractors available online but I would suggest looking for a local PHP user group or just picking up the good old yellowpages and seeing who you can find locally.

Walk in, sit down and see what they can do for you.

Local technical schools might be an option as well.
