hello there, i work for a business who does not sell on the internet but we wish to handle all our warrantys online, say a user buys a product and instead of sending in the warranty card they can fill it in online, thus giving us all their info (for maillist)
and then we can control our stores, whom we supply to, they can login and see the progress of their warrantys, if we have sent the item, what is wrong with it, how long it will take to be fixed e.t.c

does anyone have any idea of what im on about?
if you do ild be very greatfull!
love,
steve.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, privateservices.

You bet. Whether the development is done over the "public" domain our in house, the techologies used are often exactly the same. You didn't seem to have specific question though ...? Are you developing your own warranty system to interact with your corporate database?

hello thankyou for your time,
okey we are after a pre made solution,
or if not we will have one made,
there will be 3-4 main parts
admin
consumer
shops
and distributors (other countrys)

on the ocnsumer sideconsumer side that they sign up and enter their infomation, and if they buy more products they can regester that online, when the regester a product they have to say wich shop they got it from (for tracking reasions) and signs them up to the mail list

then there will be a admin side where the warrantys can be checked, regester the shops (create logins for shops) they can enter info for the shops (how long to repair when eta on delevery e.t.c)

the shop side they can login and then check the faulty product eta on repair time, delevery time, e.t.c

then the distributor side has almost the same as the admin options except they cant delete info like customers,
all they can do is create new shops that only they can see and enter warranty reports for their shops,

is this avalible or is it too far fetched?

thankyou.
steve.

I don't know of any ready-made solutions off-hand. If you did find something close it sounds as if you would still end up modifying it for your needs. No, the concept is not far-fetched. I'm guessing you may end up with a customized solution though.

I'm sorry I can't help either, but I feel like it's one of those things where I've heard of ready-made scripts designed to do just that, but I can't think of where.

This sort of thing has to be out there, but I suspect most solutions are commercial, meaning you would have to pay for a license (still likely to beat custom on price)...

If I google on "Warranty Tracking PHP" and "Warranty Management PHP" I get some promising returns. I just threw in the PHP part 'cause this is the PHP forum. You would probably get similar results without it or with a different scripting language.
