I'm looking for a good Perl or PHP link directory script to manage a links section for my site. Some searching on freshmeat.net and sourceforge.net yeilds some possibilities:
PHPlinks [sourceforge.net]
PHPdirectory [freshmeat.net]
HyperSeek [PHP] [demo.iwebsys.com]
Can anyone give advice on these?
PHPlinks was easy to install and use but didn't have enough features. HyperSeek looks similar but has more bells and whistles.
Any good Perl programs for this? I seem to remember finding one I really liked years ago but can't remember now...

Cheers,

Hi Physics,

What kind of features are you looking for in your program?

And are you looking for a large-scale system that can handle hundreds of links (+ costs most probably) or one for a few 10's of links that is free?

Regards,
Will

Physics, anything you don't like about gossamer threads links 2 (sorry, forgot the exact name)? It's powerfull and still free.

Hi wruk999. Like any Open Source loving programmer I want something with tons of features and scalability that is free ;) I suppose I'd consider paying but there's got to be some good freeware.

Thanks for the suggestion heini but I just checked out gossamer 2 and it was $150. That seems like a lot to pay when the HyperSeek program I mentioned did seem to have a reasonable amount of features and was free...

I just setup a site, but I set it up on a php Directory structure called Linker [enproject.codelib.co.kr]. Their help support was quick and the software loads fast, has a few templates and you can customize them easy enough with enough looking at the code! Color customization is easy to do :)

Thanks EliteWeb, this looks promising.
