Need some info about Zend Optimizer

I paid $400 for some scripts from some company in another country ( didn't know until after I bought it) and now the guy has basicly screwed me over and won't support the product. Some of his PHP code is encoded with Zend Optimizer, is it possible to decode that so someone else who knows PHP can offer support? or am I out $400?
