refresh slightly

refresh some value not the all page

hi all
i want that only one(or few) value will be update,in the user page.
i saw it in a bids site there they refresh the value of the last bid but they didnt refresh the ALL page.
any one any idea?

You could try the html tag "<iframes>" - it's not very nice coding in my opinion but i think it would work.
OR the other possiblity would be a Java applet....
