Hi Y'All. I have done basic php coding, mainly from online tutoriols. I am looking for some good php books, novice to intermediate lessons. Ther are thousands of books out there but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to which ones would be good to buy.

So Far I am skewing towards

PHP Essentials, 2nd Edition
by Julie Meloni

PHP Functions Essential Reference (Essential Reference)
by Zak Greant

And

PHP and MySQL Web Development (3rd Edition)
by Luke Welling, Laura Thomson

Any thoughts and suggestions would be helpfull.

Gracias.

Welcome to Webmaster World Mckimson. :)

This is actually a popular subject and has been answered many times throughout this forum. May I suggest using the search feature to locate similar threads?

Beginning Php 4, Wrox was the one I started PHP with, a few years ago. That was the only one available at that time though. I have seen many other books over the years, but that one is still the best!
