downloading php documentation

is it legal to do this....?

hey guys,,,

just a though.. the php.net website contains (off course) alot of really good info (almost as good as this forum..he..he..). but i kind of miss a way of downloading that info for offline browsing. not an issue when u have broadband, but still....so, my? is: is it possible to or legal to download that info package it and offfer it for free download to others. i know it will need to be updated on a regular basis,...just a thought....

BTW, not only is it allowed, it's encouraged - you'll be saving bandwidth on php.net probably.

The extended version is more quickly outdated than the regular in the sense that user comments change the fastest.

When I used windows more often I really liked the windows help file format of the php manual (.chm) - there are basically two versions, get the 'enhanced' one with all the user notes in it, since so many of those user notes are really, really helpful. Unfortunately this version doesn't fare well in the unix version of the chm reader.
