removing products after purchase

I am selling handmade, one-of -a-kind products with OSCommerce. Is there anybody who has found a way to remove products from catalog after purchase, or after customer has placed product in their cart?

well why do not you use the OSComm inventory category
then if you set your inventory level at one

when the "one" is gone
no one will be able to make a purchase

if I remember correctly there is also an inventory warning that can be set along

while I am typing I try to remember how it can be done but no success yet!
anyway it has to be trough the admin.
