How long has the snowcap been on the PHP logo [php.net]?

Only recently I think as I looked on the PHP site at the weekend and it wasn't there.

I was on the site last night when it started to fall. Beautiful big flakes floating down from the menu and address bars. The php site looked so serene covered in a fresh blanket of puffy white snow.

Too bad that in a hour or so the salt trucks are going to come out and turn it all into a slushy dirty mess but they've got to keep the traffic moving.

C'mon, Timotheos, really, now how do you know what a salt truck is? Your profile says California ;)

LOL! My wife is from the Great White North, eh. ;-) I'm originally from Seattle so I've lived in a little bit of the white stuff before.

BTW, my favorite php logo was the April Fool's Day one. Classic. I think I've got it saved somewhere.

Hey, I live in California and we've got about eight inches of snow on the ground. Skied down the road this morning. Now that you mention it, though, we don't have salt trucks here because it's a national park.

It's really hot here. Muggy.
The silly thing is even nz.php.net has the snowcapped logo.

I doubt you can even begin to compare the snowfall out here in California to the snowfall in (let's say) Canada or the European countries.

Well let's see. I lived
- 26 winters in Vermont, about 40 miles from the Canadian border.
- 3.5 winters in Switzerland.
- 5 winters in Wisconsin.
- 6 winters in California

Far and away the biggest snowfalls I've seen have been in California. Base depths in Sierras of 25 feet are not at all uncommon. The guy up the road was telling me that the year he moved into his house (1967), they had 22 feet of snow on level ground in his yard. I've shoveled out of a six foot dump in California. Largest snowfall I've seen in Vermont was 30 inches; biggest in Wisconsin, 16 inches; biggest in the Alps, less than a meter.

It ain't all Malibu and San Francisco!

I suppose it's time to move this to Foo, but I just gotta say that I wish I could stream video of what's happening right now outside my window. The snow is coming down like crazy. My wife packed her overnight bag to go to work because if this keeps up all day they'll close the road for sure.

sounds like heaven to me, I wish it was like that here. I live in about the only spot in Canada where it rains instead of snows in the winter.

kind of miserable really. I miss the 30 below (C) and the deep snow. :)
