Hi everyone,

I want to learn PHP, and need some good resources to get started with. First choice would be a good online resource, but my experience with those is that they tend to only tell part of the story.

So I'm looking for a good book on PHP. The problem is there seem to be so many. I don't think I need a whole library to get started, so what's a good book that will give me a solid understanding of PHP basics? I'm a complete newbie to PHP; all I know about it is its name. (In fact I don't even know what the letters stand for!)

Does anyone have some recommendations for good PHP books, meant for beginners but delving into more advanced work?

Thanks,

Matthew
