Am committed with all devt in PHP and PostgreSQL.
Have heard a lot about Ruby on Rails, and am wondering about what this means for the future of PHP, and whether I should be considering Ruby. Don't know enough about coding, am a business person who is aware of how important the apps and platforms are (from good and bad experience).
Pls advise.

I do not know too much about RoR and I haven't used it at all. It looks like it could have useful applications. Personally I favor PHP, but I like their overall purpose: simplicity and 'don't repeat yourself'.

Ive used RoR for a project. I admit its a cool concept. But I feel its still limited. Id rather build my own framework for a new project in PHP and know that it has ONLY what I need.

Interesting - so how is RoR limited?
Does this mean that a hardcore PHP coder would be taking a step backwards by working in a simpler RoR environment?
