whats the best way to close a database apart from just using mysql_close();

as i am getting this error for it - Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING

look on the line BEFORE that man, most likely the error is somewhere there

as dmmh mentioned you error is above that line. Your syntax for mysql_close is right

it is something else

look for a missing semi colon or brace or parenthesis
